![]() I'll be getting on this most likely tonight. just wow thats absolutely amazing holy F&%k. This pic is quite old, I'd image quite a few players are much further in now. Everyone starts on the outside and works into the centre. I've attached an image showing one of the server maps, each green dot indicates a player. As far as I know it is not possible to move between servers though. The server I'm playing is called World 7 (Europe). There are several servers running with thousands of alliances on each one. I'm going to randomly say these alliances are just like guilds on world of warcraft? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, you said there ar emultiple servers. ok maybe not rank 1 but damn I woulda be able to get up there. RTS games are where I preval more than any other. If i would have discovered this about a week ago. If it where not for the fact i just became faceplant addicted to minecraft. God only knows what's happened to all my bases, I'll find out when I get back home tonight, hopefully all the defence strengthening I've done over the weekend will keep them intact. We've gone from being in the top 10 to mid 20's now. Having said that, the alliance I'm in is on the brink of collapse due to complete and utter lack of leadership. It's very addictive and more so if you get in with a good alliance. The fact this is free is why my life is going to be over. My alliance is currently at war with another one and we're in retreat so I'm constantly wondering what the heck is happening to my bases atm, probably when I log back in tonight I'll have lost a couple and have to resurrect and relocate them, I've got four in total so far. ![]() I played it on a brand new Dell Precision Workstation via IE9 and it ran beautifully smooth, in fact I highly recommend playing it via IE9, it seems the devs went all out to optimise the game for that. It can be a little processor intensive sometimes, particularly when launching attacks the framerate can drop quite significantly but that'll just be a combination of internet connection and PC spec. I've played it using IE9 and the latest version of Firefox and it runs really well, you also need a fairly good graphics adaptor, I think the tech specs are listed on the landing page. ![]() No Flash is used anywhere, it's a really good tech demo for HTML 5 to be honest. It uses HTML 5 so only the newest browser versions are supported. You don't download anything, it's played through a browser ) You can create an army and set your base defences, the more powerful your base defences the better chance it has withstanding an attack from other players, similarly the higher your army's units' levels the better chance it has taking down Forgotten or other players' bases ) it's great! So addictive and I haven't spent a penny on it! the higher the level, the faster they collect. The game runs in realtime, so if you log-out and leave your base for 12 hours and come back to it, provided it's still standing your harvesters will have collected 12 hours' worth of Tiberium based on their current unit level. which can then be used to upgrade units or buildings. However, if you ARE an impatient type, you can spend money on Tiberium or power crystals etc. ALL units and buildings in the game can be acquired by playing freely. What's great about it is that, even though you can spend real world money it, the system is designed in such a way so that it's not possible to spend money on unique better units or buildings which would give players an advantage over others. The real fun is being part of an alliance, where you can have friendly or non-agressive pacts with other alliances or declare war on them! There are are also POI's - Points of Interests - which are buildings which when 'taken' by your alliance gives your alliance additional power-ups. The main aim is to move towards the centre of the map, fighting other players or fighting the 'Forgotten' who are the NPC's on the server. You can play alone or join an alliance, or create your own alliance and invite other players, the server worlds are HUGE. The Command and Conquer Tiberium story arc in completely free and hugely addictive mmorpg, I've been playing it, off and on, for a few months now.
